Hair talk

I'm always fascinated about hearing how my fellow blondies dye their hair as there are so many shades of blonde and I always seem to want someone else's! Like many bottle blondes, I'm naturally mousy brown but hundreds of foils later I've achieved a light 'creamy blonde' as my lovely hairdresser calls it.

COLOUR

Unfortunately, when you dream of Rapunzel hair with a Cinderella budget, you have to adjust your expectations a bit. I pay a very low £45 for a full head of highlights. I'm happy with the result I get for the price but, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for so I'm usually left with quite a home toner job to do. 

CARE 

I am an oil obsessive, using pure argan at night before braiding my hair and I also love olive oil masks- I saturate dry hair with microwave-warmed olive oil and leave for an hour before shampooing and conditioning as usual. I use whatever shampoo and conditioner going however I swear by provoke purple shampoo. It's amazing and I often leave it in for twenty minutes to banish brassiness (no more- hour hair will take on a lovely grey/ lilac hue!) I recommend washing as little as possible to avoid stripping your natural oils, I wash mine 1-2 times a week. 

STYLING 

I wear a side or middle part depending on how I'm feeling and usually just use my hair dryer. I like to put a few waves in the end for special occasions- tutorial coming soon! I use tressemme Heat protectant when I do so.
